Re: water pump R&R (was Pulley removal)

Hi Robert:

The method I (and countless others) use to replace a water pump is to pull the two bottom studs that secure the water pump to the timing cover. Double-nuts on the studs work well enough for removal, and after replacing the pump, install bolts in those two positions. The bolts needed are 6x25mm, and you'll have to use two washers to keep them from bottoming in the timing cover.

Subject: Pulley removal

In the midst of a water pump replacement on a 71 spider. I got the infamous
pulley nut loose but the pulley won't budge. Any recommended techniques to
move the pulley to get enough clearance to get the pump off?

Thanks
