Re: Help! 164 does not accelerate over 1600 RPM

Antonio,

First check the usual suspects - vacuum leaks, electrical connections at
the AFM, min/max switch, temp sensor, etc. No joy there, I would check your
fuel pressure - hardware store pressure meter, hose, clamps installed in
lined at entrance to fuel rail. Pressure should be about 42 with the vacuum
hose of the fuel pressure regulator unplugged from the plenum, should go
down about 5-7 psi with hose reconnected and increase slightly when engine
is revved. If you engine flunks pressure test, look to the fuel filter,
one-inch hose connection at the fuel pump, and a clogged intake screen at
the pump intake.

Many posts on this in the digest archive and on the 164 tech forum.

Don
