       Motor mounts can be shimmed.  Put the shims between the motor mount 
base and the cross member.  Stop gap measure?  Maybe, but as you pointed out, 
the motor mounts do not show any obvious signs of failure.  They have just 
sagged.
       I will not claim this as my own suggestion.  The local Alfa mechanic 
shims motor mounts quite often.  It is a lot quicker than changing the mounts.
       I did have a nice article on changing motor mounts, but I lost it when 
I switched computers.  A search of the Alfa Digest archives should turn up 
many detailed descriptions of the process.
