Richard told the troops:
ok, i have two issues here.
1) i told everyone to stop. several days ago.
2) posting personal email in public is generally considered extremely
poor
practice.
given these two issues, brad howard is going to have to spend the
next week
in time out.
Well, it's Richard's sandbox, and of course we must defer to that. And
it's never pleasant to see folks shouting at each other, especially
when
it's in such a usually pleasant and collegial setting as this one.
OTOH, we seem to have a pattern of compromised service by a regular
advertiser. Yes, he's having some problems, most of which are not his
fault. To whom are we doing a disservice by discussing this? Certainly
not Ed - if he's in that bad a condition, then for Pete's sake let's
back off and let him get back on his feet. Or maybe someone in his
neighborhood could go in and volunteer to help with the back orders,
not
to mention answering that phone. Or lending him enough to get a decent
voicemail setup. Whatever.
Anyway, this is most emphatically an on-topic matter. Not only is it
relevant, it's part and parcel of what the Digest is about, in my
opinion, and declaring it out of bounds just because it's too painful
or
nasty or personal, while understandable, helps no one. Namecalling is
certainly out of bounds, but pointing out that someone has been
chronically short in meeting his commitments, if the allegation is
true,
ought never to be, not if the Digest is to be a useful resource.
