Waaaaaay more efficiently.
It momentarily deforms the whole outside portion of the joint and actually
pops the tapered plug portion out. Be certain to have the nut on loosely so
the arm doesn't fly off and hurt someone/thing (AMHIK).
Also, when using the BFH method, use a second hammer 180 degrees off at the
same time. That way, the blow of the BFH is directed to 'deforming' the piece
and not going toward knocking the whole alignment out.
