I don't remember where you are, Alan, but Chris is here in Pasadena, and
we've had the rolling dyno test requirement since before I moved here.
The cars are tested at something like 15 and 40 mph, with the gas
analysis data being transmitted to a computer in Sacramento. The Milano
passed its first one just fine, but flunked the first attempt last year.
Bill at Alfa Only told me that the car would almost certainly pass if it
were good and hot - it had waited over an hour to be tested, as the
facility is a very popular one. So I made arrangements with the guy in
charge so I could be sure it got tested while fresh from lots of
exercise, and it passed with plenty of margin. That's a V6, of course,
but I'd imagine a Spica 4-cylinder would do much the same.
