Just off the subject for a sec. - Shaking Alfas etc..
I guess this is a bit off the subject and is quite subjective, but
I was just looking at my 79 Spider the other day through a doorway
while it was going through a safety inspection and I thought, as I looked
at the visible front end of the car, they just don't make them that
beautiful anymore. Yeah the old car does shake a bit over rough roads
and does have a bit of a rough ride due to Konis and stiffer than stock
springs, but wow if you just judge them on looks IMHO there is just nothing
as sleek and beautiful as a top down Spider on a nice summer day.
Even little kids stop their parents and point as you ride by asking,
"Mommy, daddy, what's that car?".
Scuz me for buttin in, but the comparison with the BMW, Honda thing
just got my thoughts goin.

Subject: Yet More on Chassis Stiffening
....................snip for brevity................
Whereas, our capacity for self-dellusion is truly amazing, the new
convertibles by BMW, Honda, etc. really don't shake like our old Alfas do.
I'd have to say, getting our Alfas to stop shaking is a matter of
engineering, and for that, we'll need objective data.
Does that make sense?
