Shop rates revisited
Hey, Kids -
Just for the record, Alfa Only's rate is $58 per hour. I was a tad
confused because they'd charged just half an hour for several
procedures, and most of the shops I've dealt with in the past have
charged a one-hour minimum.
Brought the Milano in there yesterday morning at 8:00; sat down and had
some coffee and read a book I'd brought, and by noon Rico had a new
water pump. Not an after-market one this time, either - the IAP one that
Bob and I put on in '99 lasted only about 30K miles, but Bill says the
original-equipment ones are in his experience good for over twice that.
They cost more, about $130 as opposed to $80-some, but I was happy to
pay it. Just over $300 for the entire procedure, parts and labor. Try
that with your Toyota!
