In #392 Gavin at the closing of his report on what C & C thought of
using a sacrificial anode on an Alfa he includes: "They also suggested
that my Alfa might be the sacrificial anode for all of the cars in the
neighborhood!"

Wow! What a great line.
I gather there are a few Digesters who actually don't live in CA. Should
you read in, say Hemmings, "California car...", don't automatically
assume it is rust free (even assuming it really is / was a CA car).
On the other hand I would, sight unseen, rather take my chances on 'CA
car' rather than 'Upper Peninsula Michigan' car.
