RE:164 Chassis Stress Fatigue

I always jack my 164 using a trolley jack under one of the subframe mountings
or on the rear wishbone mount. As soon as she is 'up' I put axle stands under
the subframe. If I am to have the car raised for any time I do this to both
sides to reduce the chances of chassis twist.

I never really trust factory jacking points entirely, though they should be OK
for the Alfa jack for wheel changing in emergencies. As our cars get older the
structural integrity must suffer even though I believe the 164 to be one of
the best structures produced by Alfa in terms of its robustness over time.
