Dear Mraxelrose:
All kidding aside, I don't think an email list is the appropriate place to
learn the very basics of auto mechanics. If you stay with us for a while,
you'll see that this is mainly a forum for technical Alfa related
discussions. So, get some books, find a good friendly mechanic and ask alot
of questions. 

PS - I'm not sure that a 164 is good place to start learning the fine art of
wrenching. I learned on old VWs and Opels and made plenty of costly mistakes
along the way. However, I was glad that I'd sacrificed only old busses,
beetles & Kadetts when I bought and started working on my beloved 72 GTV.
