Ok, I guess I need some help. First off does anyone have any idea how to get
the bolts holding the rear rotors on loose? There isn't enough clearance to
get anything but a spanner in there, and even with an extension, nothing
moves. I've been soaking the bolts with penetrating oil for about a week.

The other problem is that I have no idea how the adjustment screws work. The
insides are fairly straight forward, although no matter which way I turn
them, I can't get calipers to back off. I'm assuming the 17mm nut on the
outsides is the lock nut, and the hex head is the adjustment for the
outsides, but once again no mater how I turn it, the calipers won't back
off.  Anyone have any ideas? I'm at a loss, and can't figure out how to
proceed.

i've yet to find a dealer for bonney.
I bought the Mac wrench the the APE guys recommended. I also sprayed PB Blaster penetrant on the bolts every time I was under the car for 6 months prior to the brake job. Even though the wrench they recommened is a 12-point, the bolts came off with minimal fuss. And this was on my notorious $450 rustbucket GTV-6 that has required more than its share of destructive fastener removal. $50 made it easily the most expensive wrench I've ever bought, but I called Mac tools directly with the number supplied on their web page, and they ship for free. As for Bonney, they no longer exist.

As for the adjusters, the inboard ones are different--one turns one way, one turns the other. I have the conventional righty-tighty, lefty-loosey one marked with red paint on my car, but I don't remember which one it is. The outboard ones are as you surmised, in terms of the 17mm bit being a locknut and the Allen being the adjust, but they are both lefty-tighty, if you will. If the calipers really won't back off, then you probably need new ones. That's how mine were when I bought the car.
