2003 Concorso Italiano

All you Alfisti who plan on attending this year's Concorso Italiano at Carmel
Valley's Quail Lodge better change your plans because the August 15th event
has been relocated to the Black Horse Golf Course in Seaside.

According to the <A HREF="http://www.concorso.com/MEDIA/new_location.asp";>website</A>, " ... the most exciting aspect of the Concorso's
new location is the elimination of any traffic delay in accessing and
departing the event. The drive from central Monterey to the new venue takes
only five minutes. There are four highway lanes leading in and out of the new
Concorso site, to and from Highway 1 - north and south, effectively
eliminating the hour or more delay participants could expect in the past."

That should be nice. No more creeping along in traffic for two miles or more
at 2 mph.

Just don't expect to be quite as warm as you were in Carmel Valley as those
ocean breezes can be pretty chilly at times, although some of you in colder
climes would probably welcome a little 55-65 degree weather right now!

I'll kind of miss the old place as I had hoped one day to stay at the Lodge
for a couple of nights, but at $300 to $685 a night [gulp!] just somehow
never quite got around to it! Oh, well, at least Motel 6 will let you wash
your car in their parking lot -- not so sure about Quail Lodge.

Hope to see some of you Digesti again this August.
