(Re: New EU regulation regarding 'pedestrian safety').
"The new European rules, which were outlines in a draft directive
last month, call on car makers to put more room between the hood and the
engine, leaving more "crumple room" to soften the blow."

I'm thinking this just might bring back the plastic tea tray. Think
about it: providing the GTV6 owner centers the pedestrian in his / her
sights before smacking, their head should hit the nice soft tray and
they'll end up being only semi-vegetables.
Okay, a tiny bit crass, but would like to know how many whacked
pedestrians / bicycle riders are at fault in these accidents.
Perhaps the EU is also going to ban glass in houses / buildings because
birds fly into them, often injuring or killing them.
