Damp Alfas and AFMs

This may be an obvious question but...
Have you WD40'd the entire engine bay, especially electrical connections
 and HT leads, inside and out?
I tend to do it evry month in winter,
I run my alfas in sometimes foul weather (north england winters are
wet! - hence earlier post about silica gel bags inside the cockpit!)
They alawys seem to work well in wet conditions.
Down side is the engine bay accumalates in muck.
Other upside it protects everuthing with very fine film that is easily
 removed.
