I'll agree with everything except this statement.  I always go for the
highest deductible possible.  The cost difference between a $100
deductible and a $1000 deductible is significant, usually the savings
will cover any potential loss after just a few years.

Other than liability coverage to protect my home, I've gone with minimal
coverage (and no glass coverage) on all of my Italian cars, including a
Maserati GT car, for years now.  I've saved enough on insurance to
replace any of the Alfas.

Do the math..
