- Thread-topic: GTV Rear Window Removal (was GTV Headliner Replacement)
Regarding the removal of the rear window, I was able to get mine out
without cutting the gasket. I wedged body filler spreaders in between
the gasket and the body from inside the car. I only did this on the
right side near the top of the window. I then pulled the spreaders
back, lifting the retaining lip of the gasket. With the gasket lip
lifted, I was able to apply gentle pressure and move the window outward.
I then moved to an adjacent section of the rear window gasket and did
the same thing. I repeated this process until the rear window was
removed from the car without harming the gasket. It may be important to
note that this gasket is only a few years old and still very pliable.
This may be more difficult on an older gasket.
Cheers,
Lawrence
