RE: Fuel rack Spider 81-89

Yes, this can be done.

You will need to remove the fuel rail from the intake manifold with the
injectors attached. You will probably want to have new injector seals on
hand when you do this as well, there are two per injector (upper and
lower).

Once the fuel rail is removed, you can remove each injector from it by
slitting the hose(s) and removing them. You will need replacement fuel
hose, I forget the diameter, but this should be readily available at
most better local parts stores. Just be sure to ask for high pressure
fuel hose. If you can't find it there, try your local (gasp) VW/AUDI/BMW
dealer, they should have some metric fuel hose.

To reassemble all you need to do is cut the hose to the proper lengths,
put a small amount of silicone (or dish detergent) on fittings and push
the hose on over the barbed fittings.

Note the small 'cup' shaped washer on the ends of the old hoses before
you remove them, you MUST reinstall these as they help to keep the end
of the hose working off the barbs on the fittings.

That's it.

Subject: Fuel rack Spider 81-89

Hi all,

On Bosch injected spider from 81 to 89, is it possible to replace the
rubber
hoses on the fuel rack, I mean the hoses linking the fuel injector and
the
rack, or the fuel rack comes complete ?

Anybody know a place where I can buy such a fuel rack ?

Thanks all
