Milkshake

Same problem here with the milkshake in the oil separator of my '86 Spider. On my car the oil is returned to the dipstick tube, so I always had an oil/water mix at the upper part of the dipstick but the oil in the sump looks fine. The inside of the separator looked very rusty and cleaning it out didn't seem to help much. So I replaced it with a used on from APE. It has gotten much better but still notice some water on the dipstick. There are no other signs, ie. oil cap, coolant or cap. Anyone have an idea of what causes this? Just condensation?

I installed a Euro air box on my 73 GTV today. When I removed the oil
separator I found milk shake in the little manifold that connects the 
valve
cover breather hole to the separator hose. The oil separator had water 
in
it. I can find no sign of milk shake anywhere else. I changed the oil a
couple of weeks ago and it looked fine. I am thinking (hoping) that it 
is
condensation. I plan to drive the car every day for a few weeks and 
check it
again.
