Time for Philosophy rather than spanners.
The options you have are to spend lots of money on getting the engine
fixed, or getting another car.
Option 1 means that you have a car with a known history, good as new engine
and the chance to pat yourself on the back that you "saved" a Verde.
Option 2 means you end up with a car you know very little about that
somebody sold because thay had an unknown reason to get rid of it plus a
pile of rusting crap in the yard.
In the UK we have to pay to get rid of dead cars (thats why I have so many)
so I now lean towards option 1.
Its your money, do what you want with it.
