Sounds like supply and demand.

Btw, you kind of contradict yourself.  164S owners not selling their
cars, but those who are selling are asking high prices..

Sounds like you're asking for a 'reasonably' priced 164S, but if there
are very few on the market, then perhaps the high asking prices are
'reasonable'?
