I think the name is more like Giovanardi. I got the impression the Brit commentator
was pulling for someone, anyone, to beat Alfa. He's been saying BMW was going to
get faster for several races now.Instead they seemed to be losing ground to the
Volvo S70's as well as the Alfas.

Well.. if you win too much, they might "fix" the problem for you..
In researching where to watch for, I found race info.. the whole season
is a month over already, but what we're watching is just about in the
middle.. where they changed the rules to allow higher RPM and different
weight rules to benifit the 6 and 5 cyl cars! (BMW and Volvo)
Letting the BMW 6's go to 9000 rpm and holding the Alfa 4's to 8500, er,
sorted out the engine problem. It took the Alfa's several more races
till they started winning again. But, they ended the season as the
winning marque.
The Alfa's did have a bit of HP advantage on the straights.. (is this a
problem?) and the BMW's seemed to be slightly ahead in road holding.
They did get off the line a LOT better than the Alfa FWD cars, and
usually took the lead, which was earned back later..
I'll leave it to someone else to decide if all cars in a race should be
completely matched in power or not..
