SCCA Runoffs

Folks:

I have to apologize if this is late information, but I've been unable to access the Alfa Digest for a while.  I just saw a posting about Alfas at the Runoffs, and can provide some information.

At this time, Alfas could race in GT2 (GTV6), GT3 or 4 (GTV or Alfetta GT), and GT5 (1300 coupes), EP (1750 and 2000 Spider), and GP (1300 Spider).  It is possible that other Alfas could qualify (such as the Guilia Spider), but I'm not sure what class they'd be in.

This year, there were three Alfas at the Runoffs.  Brian Haupt ran his venerable Spider in EP, but he is outclassed in EP.  He suffered once again from someone else's accident, but at least he was able to finish this year.

In GT5, Jack Back had his GT Jr and Jay Iliohan was there with his Alfetta 1300.  On the track, Jay finished 3rd with Jack 4th, but Jay was penalized essentially for jumping the start, putting Jack in a well deserved third.

Too bad there aren't more Alfas that make it to the Runoffs.
