Re: NGK for 75 Turbo

I would suspect that it would be a B6ERS. The heat range goes from 4 to 10 with 4 being the hottest. 6 is middling heat range (you might want to go a bit hotter for an older car, but I must admit that I don't know what a turbo does for the equation.) the 'B' means 14mm diameter and the 'E' means 19mm long. This is the old standard spark plug barrel. If your car uses one of the new, smaller plugs (I don't think it does) then be advised that the 'B' gets replaced with a 'D' for a 12mm plug barrel, and 'C' for 10mm and an 'H' would replace the 'E' for the smaller diameter plugs. The 'R' is for resistor and if you don't want resistor plugs, leave the 'R' out. 'S' refers to standard tip as opposed to 'H' for a wire tip. Alfas want a standard tip.

So, a B6ES or B6ERS would be correct for most '70's -'80's Alfas. A higher milage car might go for a B5E/ERS or even a B4E/ERS if the valve guides are leaking badly. Fuel injection cars tend to blow black-gray smoke under hard acceleration because they invariably use too much gas under those conditions especially as the system ages (so I've been told). So, again, a bit hotter plug might be in order just to insure more complete combustion. But all of this stuff is conditional, and even arguable.

If you want the absolute cross to your car and motor. Check with NGK Italia's on-line spark-plug reference if they have one. I looked in the US guide, but the 75 Turbo wasn't sold here, so its not listed.
