91 spider shifter

Hello Group,
This question was asked before. I just don't remember the answer. My 91 
spider veloce shifter is rubbing on the drivers side of the shifter well. 
Between first and second gear it rubs and has ripped the shifter boot. I 
would like to replace the boot, but i need to know if the shift lever can be 
moved over or adjusted somehow.Also how does the new boot mount on?
