I suspect that the current GTV and Spider would sell OK too here in the
States. I've shown pictures to a lot of people, most think that they
are strikingly beautiful. They perform well too, but they would have to
sell in $30,000 to $40,000 range to be competitive. The $47,000 price
that AutoDelta wants for their re-badged versions only yields a unique
looking car, not a car with $50,000 worth of performance.
Got curious, and went to the British Alfa site, and a currency
calculator site.. here's the current
prices on UK cars converted to $USD:
147
$20.6k to $27.9k, 2.0L models w/o Selespeed $24.6k and $25.4k (3 and 5
door)
(no 147 GTA price on the site as yet)
156
$22.6k to $35.6k, 2.0L models $27.5k to $31.2k, 2.5L V6 models,
$31.9k and $35.6k
156 GTA
$41.7k and $43.3k (w/o and with Selespeed)
GTV
$32.2k (high end 2.0) $39.6k (3.0L V6)
Spider
$31.4 and $35.0k (2.0) $41.2k (3.0 V6)
I don't know how close to "actual" these prices would be, but it's
probably an idea.. ( is there markup
for being sold in a non native country?)
