Would exhaust header from '74 on '86 Spider make it hard to pass CA emission test?

Hi,

I have a stock cast iron exhaust header from my 74 Spider on ebay and I got
this email from a potential buyer:

"Hello,
Could you please tell me if this will cause the car not to pass CA emissions
test? I just moved here and bought an 86 Quad that I am restoring - but also
want > to get more power from :). I am concerned about the laws here regarding
modifications and emissions. Do you have any other hints (parts to use) on
modifications to this car?"

I don't know the answer, does anyone have first hand experience?
