How 'bout a DatSUV (wee bit o' Alfa content)

Right. But how many people really don't need SUVs -- for towing,
hauling, team taxi service, etc. -- and how many of those, if there were
a cultural change like the one BMW seems to want to nudge along, might
be tempted by something smartly-sized, nimble and fun, say, along the
lines of the Mini or (HERE comes the Alfa content) a 147? Some of the
most fun I ever had in a car (driving or riding that is) occurred in the
early seventies, when, as a ten-year-old, my college-student brother
hauled me around in his (gulp) red Datsun 1200 two-door thingee. It
wasn't quick, it wasn't sophisticated, but it sure felt right and made a
lot of sense.
Let the backlash begin.
