Re: alfa-digest V8 #1160
I'll almost guarantee This. We will NEVER see Alfa return to these
shores as an official import. so, unless the US government can be
convinced to let private US citizens bring in an unofficial car as
personal property, all we can do is hope that Auto Delta can
successfully sell the cars they're importing. I don't see the former
happening, so AutoDelta becomes our only hope.

Subject: More on Alfa's return to the US market
There was an article in this mornings Automotive News Europe on how
Fiat
is struggling to maintain its level of investment in new product when
facing 20% to 30% overcapacity and the difficulties of temporary
layoffs
in the face of Italian labor laws. Of interest to US Alfisti is a
quote
at the bottom:
"Boschetti (Fiat Auto CEO) also said there were discussions about the
reintroduction of the Alfa Romeo brand to the United States, but he
noted the cost of such a launch was prohibitive under current
conditions."
