I remember once i had that weird clunk problem in my
old Alfetta and it turned out to be a cracked u-joint.
of course someone has already suggested this to you I
presume, I apologize as I have been travelling and
unable to read even 1/10 of the incoming digests...

...but more importantly, I am about to make my
pilgrimmage to the Museo Alfa Romeo in Arese tomorrow.
I of course will kneel and pray and weep, but if there
are any other offerings someone would like me to make
for them, now is the time to SPEAK! A rusty piece of
poor quality steel perhaps? Some used Castrol 20-50,
offered up in a cracked oil pan?? A torn and misshapen
plastic rear window??? Just give me the word, and I
will obtain the object and deliver it with the proper
incantations and mumblings.
