Re: new Alfas in the US

hi ross,

ya, i *have* driven a camry. a couple different iteration, in fact. and, ya, i *do* tink it's a lot like my 164, albeit, i certainly prefer the 164's engine. but, more for its tactile sensations, not for any lack of thrust in the camry. re: handling - honestly, i don't tink either one is anyting to write home about. (ever drive a mazda 626 w/the we-6 engine? this car's engine is easily as nice as the 164's, tho a bit too quiet for my tastes. and, i understand the nissan we-6's are also sweethearts, but i've never tried one.)

while i certainly won't argue w/yer love of yer 164, i'll submit it has to do w/all the exhaust fumes ya have inhaled over the years, from older alfa's, that has ya in this memory-induced trance, so when ya get behind the wheel of that generic "could-be-any-car" 164, ya feel like it's someting special! enjoy the hallucination! ;~)

regards,

doug s.
