lighting revisited
a couple of days ago i mentioned a site that had some good stuff about
lighting. i subsequently decided to buy some stuff to upgrade the lighting
in my 74 gtv, and today a box arrived with a pair of 7" cibie high/lows and
a relay kit.
the cibie lights, are well, high quality cibie lights, there's no mystery
about what a cibie light is.
the relay kit is a collection of hella bits, and it's very nice, and will
make for a very clean looking installation. the relays setup itself
consists of a set of connector blocks that interlock into a single shelf
that you can screw to the firewall or fender, and ordinary standard relays
that plug into the connector block. the result is a clean installation that
looks entirely too modern for a 1974. additional relay connector blocks
could be added onto the end at a later date (which i may do with the fog
lights when i start looking at upgrading those.)
also, the inline fuse holders are really trick; they're by a substantial
margin the nicest inline fuse holders i've ever seen, and they take the old
style ceramic euro fuses, just like the rest of the car.
the site was http://lighting.mbz.org/, i have no finanical interest, blah
blah blah. i just liked the stuff i got from this guy a lot. the stuff he's
selling is well known brands, and may well be available elsewhere in the US.
