Charlie, are you suggesting that not only double declutching, but rev
matching too is unnecessary?

This is a big question for me because in my GTV the pedal heights are so
different that I have to do some serious ankle contortions to make it
happen. I do love a nice smooth downshift though, and in fact, I find that
hard engine braking really destabilizes my backend.

Does anyone have this problem (pedal height) with their Weber converted
GTV's?
