Spring ka-booiiiiinnnng
ps - I would never personally use the floor jack method of removing /
installing front suspension springs. The all-thread / gradual method seems
safest to me. Those big springs scare the hell out of me. What would happen
if one went "ca-boing" whilst being compressed?

Without confessing to anything stupid from my earlier days, let me assure
you they hold an incredible, not-at-all-funny amount of energy, enough to
ricochet around a large commercial garage, and enough to do severe damage
to anything they hit. There is no doubt in my mind that there was plenty
of energy to kill a person, bash in a fender, or any number of other things.
Don't mess with them; be very careful. Not to disagree with a fellow AROO
member, especially one I like, but I think the all-thread method is much
safer than trusting a jack.
Once you have replaced your long stock springs with shorter, stiffer ones,
the process is easier.
Cheers and continuing contrition,
Joe
