I just completed a search for a non "bling-bling", relatively cheap
(under $200) aftermarket CD player to replace my OEM unit. I'd just
about given up finding anything decent looking and was about to give up
and buy an Alpine (at least its "bling bling" color matches the green
backlighting) when I checked my local hole-in-the-wall car stereo place
and saw the new Blaupunkt San Diego CD32 - it looks great, and I got
mine for $100 even! It's not an audiophile system, but coupled with 4
new Infinity speakers it has enough punch to be heard at 80 with the top
down, which is all I really wanted. The San Diego is the cheapest of the
bunch, but all the "CD32" series T-line from Blau are pretty good
looking - I think the three are the San Diego, Santa Fe and Las Vegas.
Look on Crutchfield for pics (no commercial interest, etc.) of the new
models - the Blau site still shows the old, "subtlety impaired" models.
