stripped cam cap stud & Keen-Serts
I repaired one on a friends GTV by using a Heli-coil. First I drilled out
the hole and then tapped it with the proper size tap that can with the
heli-coils, 8MM if I remember. The trick is not getting any metal into the
head. I took rags and paper towels and covered and crammed they around the
cam. Then I used a good amount of grease on the drill and tap so as to catch
the shavings. When finished, wiped everything off real good and reinstalled
the cam cap. To the best of my knowledge it's still holding, this was about
4 or 5 years ago, Joel, am I right, is it still holding?
