GTV-6 Mirror backs

When I had my GTV-6 painted last year, they did a very sloppy job painting
the power mirror backs with the same body color as the car. Since these are
steel, and there was a bit of surface rust on the metal, the paint has
started to flake-off. I want to repaint them with black wrinkle finish (I'm
not good enough to do a smooth body-paint job), but I also want to take the
backs off the mirrors first and clean them up; remove old paint, sand-out
the surface rust etc. before the re-spray. I also want to bake the
re-sprayed pieces in the oven (this makes black-wrinkle paint wrinkle in a
real uniform manner). Unfortunately, I can't see how to get the backs off of
the mirrors. I've removed the mirrors from the car, but I see no screws nor
any way to get inside the mirror box itself. Does anybody know how to do
this? Thanks, in advance for any help.
