Re: Crankshaft Oil Way Plugs

In response to the question of inserting plugs in a crankshaft, my son and I have all crankshafts drilled to connect number three main to number two and number three rods in order to get oil flowing from all directions in the crankshaft.  After drilling, a common allen head plug is screwed in the previously made threads.  We have not had any problems.  The hardest part is to find a machinist willing to do the drilling on a vertical drill press and set the crankshaft at the correct angles for drilling.  However, most reliable and experienced machine shops can do the job.
