If it were me crossing the good ole' US of A,

spark plugs
water pump (for the Alfa, obviously, not the Porsche)
distributor cap, rotor arm, points and condenser (as necessary)
emergency coolant pipe bandage
a roll of reasonably good gauge electrical wire
electrical tape
continuity tester
cable ties in small and big sizes
Alfa Romeo workshop manual (Porsche one, too?)
list of AR and Porsche specialists and parts suppliers along intended route
tire pressure gauge
small electric air pump
small bottle jack
warning triangle
engine oil
jubilee clips
sharp knife/blade
an old bicycle inner tube
first aid kit
gun

ummmm. I think that's it. Am I an overblown Boy Scout and/or just paranoid?

Despite my subwoofer, various spare bits and tools PLUS exhaust system for
the Giulia in the trunk, my 75 still managed to blow off a pesky Turbo'd VW
Golf GTI last night, rolling on from low revs, not side-stepping the clutch.
