re; those street legal Schroth harnesses

recently there was a thread about which harness could be used on the street.
More than one, I think (I didn't keep track), mentioned the Schroth harness.
Yes, they are street legal, but may not be legal at your local Alfa Romeo
Club race.
It is required to have a 3" shoulder *and* lap belts, plus an antisub 2"
strap.
Several models have 3" shoulder straps, combined with 2" lap straps. This
is not acceptable even though it says FIA approved. Dana, please correct me
if I am wrong.
So, if you plan to get to the track, make sure you get the 5 point (you add
the antisub strap as an option) with 3 inch lap straps, specifically models
Profi III-Fe asm, which says it's US-SFI approved with a sub-strap, or model
Profi III-5 asm.

I would be a little concern driving a performance car on the street,
strapped by a harness to my seat, without a roll bar. In case of a roll, my
head becomes the *roll bar*, unless there's one installed. But that's
another subject.

Jorge Mazlumian
89 Verde - Deist Safety Harness, no roll bar.
73 GTV - Deist stafety Harness, roll bar.
