Overseas vehicle shipping tips

Anyone ever ship a vehicle overseas that can recommend
a shipper.  I live in Denver and would like to ship
from either Houston or LA to Costa Rica.  I got a
quote from a shipper I found online for $1100 from
Houston to Puerto Limon, Costa Rica.  However this
struck me as being high since I recall having seen
lower rates somewhere (perhaps magazines).  Any
information will be appreciated.
