    In regard to a magazine article on the TS saying that some systems fired
180 degrees apart, they were probably refering to a "wastefire" direct ign
system that typically has two coils (on a 4 cyl) each of which fires two
cyls at once when triggered - say, #1 just before TDC on the power stroke
and #4 on the exhaust simultaneously; then 2 & 3.  This is common on several
aftermarket systems - more for reasons of simplicity than emissions.
However, one wonders that if a TS is such a good idea for power and
emissions why isn't it in wide use, esp on upper end cars?  Computer
controlled ign and fuel probably is cheaper and/or better.
