Alfa does race (was: Re: Fiat (Alfa) and GM)

I was following the discussion about Alfa and GM, and the 156 GTA not being
worthy of the name of its predecessor. Yes, it's overweight, but according
to the press that doesn't prevent it from being a delicious car. And hasn't
the M3 grwon from a lightweight sports special to an overweight coupe?
Apparently the market dictates it. Let's hope Alfa does a stripped down GTAm
for the hard core people.

And about racing, the 156 is VERY succesfully campaigned in the Europen
touringcar competition, fending of the threat of BMW 3 series and other
makes... Alfa is leading the competition, winning most races with Fabrizio
