Randy, read or get a copy of "Alfa Romeo Owners Bible" by Pat Braden. He 
talks about your question. But, if you check with a couple of the national 
parts suppliers then for the time it would take you to hand size a shim 
(depending on the price you put on your own time) it would be cheaper to just 
order the shims you need and keep the ones you don't use and build up a 
personal supply.
