Hi Richard,

If you don't overtighten the vice-grip I think that will work fine. I use a
small clamp (make Midlock) of which I will send you a 'photograph' I made
with my
scanner. The picture on page 22-25 of the CarDisk gives an idea of what's
inside but
doesn't show the circlip.
You said in the digest the little lever on the caliper is moving easily. I
realize now that this doesn't mean the cam inside is moving. So there is
another explanation for this problem. If you cannot get any brake effect by
moving the little lever with pliers as far as it wil go, then the cam is
probably frozen. I found an instruction on how to get it moving again in
some Audi site on the net. The url is

The piston has to be screwed in and out. I guess you can press it in by
thumb only the first mm's.
