Eric Storhok tells of John Hoard buying his GTA Junior at a reduced price due
to a rattley cam chain. Here's a similar tale: A local alfisti was pursuing a
very clean mid 80's Spider, and called the seller to continue their
negotiations, only to be told that "the car won't run any more". Said friend
went to look at the car, saw the impact switch for the fuel cutoff impact
switch button in the "up" position. He responded with some line about the
expense of repairing Alfa Fuel injection systems, whereupon a much reduced
selling price was offered. Said friend went through the charade of having a
flat bed come to haul his just purchased spider home, where he reset the fuel
cut off, started the car and drove it into his garage.
