Mr. DiMateo's tirade

With all due respect for the Digest, and Mr DiMateo, we must all remember
that this forum is for all information in reguards to the pleasure of owning
and maintaining our beloved Alfas. Fred's last post was totally uncalled for.
Some of the posts from others were humbling to say the least, coming to the
defense of another digester.(although not much better content than Freds)
Still, I'm proud to be a member.
As mentioned in one post, "The only stupid question is the one that wasn't
asked." If I remember correctly, this is why we all joined the digest.
Right? To ask questions?
Believe me, I know of where I speak. Last summer, I was flamed by Fred
regarding my quest for info on replacing my water pump on my Milano.
Basically I had to explain that I was trying to gather ALL the info regarding
this repair. I was informed by a man who never met me, that I was going to
wreck my engine because it sounds like I don't know what I'm doing.
All was forgiven. I just carry my pride as a trained mechanic on my sleeve,
and be thankful I'm not a technician. ( Mechanics diagnose the problem, take
the part off the car, rebuild it, test it and put it back on. Technicians
diagnose, remove, replace with new.) Big ;-)
Besides all that, I got better info from the digesters than any service
manual could provide. Any day of the week.
Thank you to all.
