re: 164 heater hoses

not sure how much help this is - when i did mine, i could only get one of the two stock hoses.  i used generic hose for the second, but i dunno which was which; it was quite a while ago.  perhaps wrx-willi, uh, i mean alfa-bill could prowide a bit more insight...  'twas he who suggested generic hose...

   Has anyone had any luck replacing the molded heater hoses on the 164 with
   normal (non-molded) bulk hose?  The short one from the heater core to the
   expansion tank looks like it would be especially tough, given the sharp bend
   it makes after it passes through the false firewall.
