I would like to thank everyone who responded to my original post about the 
spongy Milano automatic selector.  It's good to know I'm not the only one 
who has experienced this problem (and good to know I didn't mess something 
up when I installed it).  I can't believe I paid $$$ for a new, "genuine" 
Alfa Romeo part that doesn't even work!  Aughhhhh!!!!!
