Don,
       I've used the twin tip Ansa's in three of my Spiders.  I have always 
found quality of Ansa to be good.  But the twin tips are out of production.  
Alfa Ricambi sells a twin tip rear muffler that I use now.  Quality is equal 
to the Ansa.  I can't speak for Stebro.  But if you live in snow country, the 
stainless steel is certainly an advantage.
       Regarding the center muffler - yes, you can remove it.  The cat con 
and the rear muffler provide enough sound reduction.  I've done that on my 
Spider.  It's throatier than stock, but it's not as noisy as a Ferrari or 
non-turbo Porsche at WOT.  At street speeds, you will hear the exhaust.  At 
freeway speed, the wind noise will dominate.
